The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Chapter of UNICO is offering scholarships to high school
seniors who are of verifiable Italian heritage and are American citizens.
Children of SPF-UNICO members in good standing have no residency requirements to be considered for an award.
Children of Non-SPF UNICANS must reside in Scotch Plains or Fanwood and may attend a school outside of Scotch Plains or Fanwood
to be considered for an award.
Scholarships will be applied only to the
freshman year of study at an accredited college/university.
Applications will be judged by the members of Scotch Plains- Fanwood UNICO on the
overall basis of financial need, academic excellence, SAT scores,
extracurricular activity and civic involvement. Scholarship funds will be paid directly
to the educational institution, not to exceed the charges remaining after considering all
other scholarships/grants. A detailed Bursar's invoice and documentation of expenses are required prior to disbursement of funds.
Deadline for the receipt of applications is March 1, 2010.
NOTE: A special UNICO Supplement
MUST be completed and returned ALONG WITH
the Standard Scholarship Application in order for the application to be considered.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to have a complete high school transcript
sent directly by the school to the Scholarship Committee.
